The Birdwatchers Store

the store

Everything bird. Including a place to watch them.

The Pittsburgh region’s largest selection of feeders, pole systems, the freshest quality seed, books, nesting boxes, bird houses, gifts and other cool stuff. All in a century-old schoolhouse on 3.5 acres of Audubon-certified wildlife sanctuary.
the land

A sanctuary for birds. And people who love them.

Step up to our beautiful bay window and check out the birds in our feeder-filled backyard. Or wander the wooded trails down by the pond and check out some species on your own.
seed

The freshest. Always.

Deluxe finch, black oil sunflower, safflower, nyjer and all kinds of specialty mixes. We get 2,000 lbs. delivered every week from our co-op in Ohio. So, oh yes, it’s fresh.
feeders

Something for every beak.

From seasonal migrants to year-round favorites, we sell feeders to attract more of the birds you have. The ones you want. And stuff to keep away the squirrels you don’t.
Houses & Nesting Boxes

Gimme shelter

Go simple. Go fancy. They’re all meant to go outside. Everything we offer stands up to the elements and provides birds with quality shelter for years to come. So they keep coming back.
Kid’s Corner

There’s no app for nature

Books, toys, journals, stickers, puzzles and all sorts of other fun stuff designed to get kids’ away from screen time and enjoying learning about the natural world around them.
Gifts

Treat yourself. Or someone else.

Nature themed artwork, jewelry, home décor, charms and lots more. (Of course, feeders and the birds they attract make great gifts, too!)

The BWS Bird Walk is this Saturday, June 1st!

It’s free, it’s fun and it’s your chance to see a whole host of species you may have been missing!

We meet at 8am at BWS for a quick cup of Birds and Beans bird-friendly coffee. Then we’ll be carpooling to several sites within a 10 mile radius of the store.

What will you potentially see? Raptors, Warblers, Bobolinks and wayward shorebirds. (Last time we saw Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs in a farmer’s pond!)

Sign up right here on Facebook or by calling BWS at 724.794.2473. All ages are welcomed!
